Georgsmarienhütte GmbH celebrated its 160th anniversary in 2016 and is one of Europe's leading suppliers of steel bars, semi-finished products and bright steel from quality and engineering steels.

Today, the plant generates around 80 percent of its sales with the automotive industry and its suppliers. Also in the development of new grades for the field of electromobility, the plant is significantly involved in cooperation with its customers. But also mechanical engineering, chain manufacturers and producers for tubes and other capital goods industry as well as open-die forging are among their customers.

The requests of the customers on the products are manifold and grow steadily. The processing depths offered by the plant are accordingly differentiated - through the targeted treatment of the primary material and surface refinement of the finished material. Both result in product properties that ensure optimal processing: narrow chemical contents and hardening limits, very good micro and macro-unit levels, good surface finish, good formability, very tight dimensional tolerances, straightness, excellent end finish and good machinability.

Steel from Georgsmarienhütte is used wherever the load is very high, where power, forces and moments are transferred and where safe and wear-resistant operation is important. Customers process steel amongst others into engine, transmission, suspension and steering parts, ball and flange bearings and coil springs. In addition, the Georgsmarienhütte supplies steel for chains, machine components and hydraulic components.

State-of-the-art equipment guarantees a high quality standard of the products. All the processes, from the melting of the raw steel to shipping, meet the high requirements of the extensive quality management system. Of course, Georgsmarienhütte GmbH is certified according to DIN ISO 9001, ISO / TS 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and VDA 6.1.

The infrastructure at the Georgsmarienhütte site has been fundamentally upgraded in recent years. Today, the company is a trendsetter in Europe and one of the technology leaders in its field.
